Windows 10 Cumulative Update KB4480966

The cumulative update KB4480966 is now available for Windows 10 users version 1803. This is designed keeping in mind the security issues that occur during program installation.   • Earlier the PowerShell is open for Administrator accounts and the same could be made available for Non-Administrator Accounts as well by configuring some settings. However, with the new update, this would not be possible to configure this for Non-Administrator accounts. If you try to open PowerShell after this release, the following error message will be displayed:

New-PSSession: [computerName] Connecting to remote server localhost failed with the following error message: The WSMan service could not launch a host process to process the given request.   • With the new release, there are now new Security Updates available for Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, The Microsoft Scripting Engine, Windows Linux, Windows Kernel, Windows App Platform and Frameworks,  Windows MSXML, Windows Storage and Filesystems, Windows Virtualization and the Microsoft JET Database Engine.

If users have installed earlier updates, only the new fixes contained in this release would be installed and applied to the System.

What are the Known issues in this update

Issue #1

When you install the August Preview of Quality Rollup or September 11, 2018, .NET Framework update, instantiation of SQL Connection can toss an exception. If you want to know more details related to this click here.

Solution: Microsoft is currently working on this issue and will bring an update soon in the next release.

Issue #2

Some users are not able to pin a web link on either Start Menu or Taskbar after installing this update on their system.

Solution: Again, Microsoft has announced that they are working on a resolution and will provide an update to this issue in their upcoming release.

Issue #3

After installation of the KB4467682 update, if the Group Policy “Minimum Password Length” is configured with greater than 14 characters, the cluster service may fail to start with the error “2245 (NERR_PasswordTooShort)”.

Solution: Microsoft is currently working on this issue and will fix this by the next release.

Issue #4

After installing this update, there will be difficulty in authenticating hotspots to third party applications.

Solution: A solution will be available for this issue by the mid-January

How to get KB4480966 update

How to install the Cumulative Update KB4480966-
