Today, in the morning, Microsoft introduces the concept of Windows Insider Channels scrapping the earlier usage of Rings. And guess what, they release a new build to its beta channel (slow ring) – Build 19042.330. This is basically a feature update for 20H2 that includes the new Chromium Edge as well. Moreover, this release includes the improvements and fixes that came on KB4557957.
The software giant releases the Build 19042.330 under the Beta Channel via their “seeker” experience in Windows Update. This implies, insiders may now browse to the path – “Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update” and choose to download/install 20H2. Once you enroll yourself for this Beta Channel, you will get monthly updates just similar to that Tuesday patches.
What’s new for 20H2 Insiders
Microsoft experimented on 1909 insiders with one section receiving bits with features turned off while others with turned on features. They are not planning to do this on 20H2. From now onward, the company proceeds differently –
- Insiders who opt to download and install 20H2 on their PC will get new 20H2 features as they are delivered.
- Similarly, those in the Beta Channel not choosing to download and install 20H2 won’t see new features.
