Microsoft rolls in Windows 10 20H2 Build 19042.421 (KB4568831) for insiders in the Beta Channel. With this build, the company introduces multiple new features, changes, improvements, and bug-fixes. If we talk about the new features, you will get theme-aware tiles in Start that give the Start menu a pleasant look with a more modernized design. Another new feature for the Edge user is here, they will quick access to tabs for their pinned sites.
In addition, there is a more personalized and out-of-box experience for new users. Using these streamlined features, you will get a clean and clutter-free environment on your content.

Theme-aware tiles in Start
With this update, Microsoft has added a new feature named Theme-aware tiles in the Start menu. After installing this build, you will get a uniform and partially transparent background design to the tiles. This design builds a lovely beautiful platform for the apps.
For Office and Microsoft Edge, Microsoft added a Fluent Design icon that makes a beautiful framework. Some other inbuilt apps such as Calculator, Mail, and Calendar have already got redesigned icons that are started rolling out this year.
You will find this Start design effective in both dark and light themes. However, if you’re searching for a splash color, make sure the Windows dark theme is enabled. If it is, then open
Settings > Personalization > Color and then click the toggle button “Show accent color on the following surfaces” for “Start, taskbar, and action center”.
ALT + TAB between apps and sites
Another new feature with this build is that your tabs open in the Edge browser will start appearing in Alt + Tab. This change has been made to get back immediately whatever or wherever you were doing.
In case you like the Classic Alt+Tab experience, there are settings that you will get after under Settings > System > Multitasking. Using this shortcut key, you can configure to only show the last three or five tabs. Besides, if you don’t need this feature, you can also turn it off completely.
Please note that this feature requires a Canary or Dev build of Microsoft Edge “version 83.0.475.0 or higher”.
A more personalized Taskbar for new users
Microsoft team has introduced a more personalized Taskbar for new users to give them a clear and clutter-less environment.
On the basis of the performance, the company monitors the diagnostic data and evaluate the default properties of individual production. Using this info details, they will minimize clutter and perceptions of bloatware.
Note: This facility is only available to the new account creation or first login scenarios. In order to change the Taskbar layout, the programmable Taskbar will not be used on the existing accounts.
Improving the notification experience
Once you install Windows 10 Build 19042.421, you will experience the improvement in the Windows 10 notifications center.
First, if you want to know from where toast is coming, then see the app logo available at the top. After that, go to the top right corner and select X to release immediately and move on with your life.
The second improvement is here, the company has by default turned off the Focus Assist notification and summary toast. However, it can be revert back to the previous state using Settings.
Making Settings even better
The company is constantly working on involving the abilities from Control Panel forward into Windows Settings. As a result, you can see that the information that was available in the Control Panel’s System page is now migrating into the Settings > System > About. Accordingly, the links that were used to open the Control Panel System page, now it is redirected to the About page of Windows Settings. Furthermore, you will get here some other information like making your device information copyable and streamlining the security information. However, the advanced controls that were available in the System page, are still available in the modern About page of the Control Panel.
Improving the tablet experience for 2-in-1 devices
Microsoft has improved the tabled experience for 2-in-1 devices. On the basis of improvement, now the notification toast will not appear and ask you to choose the tabled mode when you detach the keyboard on a 2-in-1 device. Instead of that, it will be switched you directly into the new tablet experience including the touch improvement. However, if you want you can change it to default by going to Settings > System > Tablet.
The next improvement is that the company has removed the quick action on non-touch devices in tablet mode.
Modern Device Management (MDM) improvements
Now there is an allowance to the administrator to make granular changes to a local group on a managed device.
