KB4489868: Windows 10 1803 OS Build 17134.648- Mar 12 2019

Microsoft brings new patch up update for Windows 10 1803 i.e. KB4489868 on 12 march 2019. This will take the OS to build 17134.648 with slightly improving the overall stability of System. This is the second last delta update which surfaced for Windows 10 1803 version. However, Security and quality update continues to come in between in the form of Express or cumulative update packages.

When you install this update, MSXML6 may cause some apps to stop responding. This happens only if an exception was thrown during node operations like appendChild(), insertBefore(), and moveNode().

There is slight chance of Group Policy Editor getting affected when there is a Group Policy Preference for Internet Settings while editing GPO.

Microsoft is working on this bug and they will provide a solution in upcoming patch up update.

 

How to get this update

Before installing the new release i.e. KB4489868, make sure to install the latest SSU (KB4485449) on your system. If you perform the same, this will enhance the reliability of the Update process. After this, you can download and install LCU KB4489868.

Note: SSU stands for servicing stack updates whereas LCU for the latest cumulative update.

The update will be downloaded and installed automatically from Windows Update.

At first, navigate to the following path.

Settings --> Update & Security --> Windows Update

Here on the right pane, select Check for updates option.
